The Coffee Gourmand

Author: Steven Sarsgaard

For those not familiar with gourmet coffee, let's step back for a moment and reveal a big secret. "Gourmet" simply means someone who is knowledgeable in food and drink. Not too bad right? See, we are gourmands in some way, shape, or form for different kinds of foods and drinks.

You are what you eat right? So it makes sense to have at least a passing curiosity for what actually goes into our bodies via our digestive tracts. In this way, we become enriched not only with knowledge of the foods we ingest, but also we can become more selective in terms of choosing higher quality ingredients and processes that make up our foods. This will help us to grow happier and healthier in the long run.

All in all, there are billions upon billions of cups of coffee served and consumed yearly. It is one of the most, if not most, popular drinks on this green Earth. It's been around for centuries and even to this day we find that the specialty gourmet sector of the economy continuing to grow as more and more gourmands come to understand and appreciate the finer workings and history of coffee.

So now, you are well on your way to becoming a coffee gourmand!
